Elon musk pays Hostess $250,000 to keep quiet over sexual harassment

Some agencies budget N12.2bn on sewage, others as Buhari presents 2022 budget to NAss


Some agencies of the Federal Government have proposed to spend N12.2bn on sewage, cleaning and fumigation in the 2022 fiscal year, data obtained from the budget proposal have shown.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has in October presented to the joint section of the National Assembly a budget of N16.39tn.

The State House, Lagos Liaison, budgeted N4.4m for sewage and N2.7m for fumigation and cleaning.

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, would require N3.7m for sewage while N1.6m was proposed for fumigation and cleaning.

The National Emergency Management Agency said it would need N26.8m for fumigation and cleaning and N34.6m for sewage while the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission budgeted N23.5m for fumigation and sewage.

The Defence Headquarters proposed N37.7m for fumigation and clearing of its waste, while the Ministry of Interior proposed N15.7m.

The Nigeria Immigration Service budgeted N37.6m for fumigation and sewage clearing.

The Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning headquarters proposed to spend N18m to clear sewage and N44m for cleaning and fumigation, while the Ministry of Environment headquarters proposed N8m as sewage charges and N28.7m for cleaning and fumigation.

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation headquarters budgeted N106.3m for fumigation and sewage clearing, while the Federal Civil Service Commission proposed to spend N5.1m on the same services.

The National Intelligence Agency and the National Security Adviser budgeted N28.7m and N57.2m respectively for cleaning and fumigation.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal budgeted N20.4m for cleaning and fumigation and N1.5m for clearing sewage.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has the highest proposed spending on cleaning and fumigation services among the 57 GOEs as it budgeted N3bn.

It is followed by Nigerian Ports Authority with a proposed expenditure of N1.5bn on cleaning and fumigation services.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation budgeted N1.3bn and N350.5m respectively for cleaning and fumigation services.

The Nigerian Metrological Agency and the defunct Department of Petroleum Resources proposed to spend N350m and N260m for cleaning and fumigation services.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control budgeted N141.9m for cleaning and fumigation services and N2.2m for sewage charges.

The Federal Road Safety Corps proposed to spend 58.9m on cleaning and fumigation services and N22.6m on sewage.

A total of N11.3bn was budgeted for cleaning and fumigation, and N0.9bn for sewage charges.

Other agencies, including the Industrial Training Fund, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, the National Examination Council, the National Information Technology Development Agency, the National Pension Commission, the Nigeria Customs Service, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the National Airspace Management Agency, did not indicate their budgets for sewage, cleaning and fumigation.
